A subsidiary of Authentic Brands Group and other music rights holders have filed a copyright suit in a California federal court. They allege Anthropic used 274 Elvis-associated songs to train Claude without permission, and that Claude still produced close imitations of the compositions after safeguards were added. They seek about $41.1m in statutory damages. Anthropic says it disagrees with the claims and will defend the case.
