OpenAI has announced Patch the Planet, a framework to coordinate finding and fixing software vulnerabilities before attackers exploit them. It includes a $1bn commitment to subsidise access to its Daybreak security-auditing platform for under-resourced organisations running essential services, a Codex skill on GitHub to check sites for PHP2Shell compromise, and a public disclosure site. Gizmodo reports that OpenAI's own model is said to have found the PHP flaws, which prompted emergency patches.
