AI in regulated sectors

The Department for Work and Pensions has published an algorithmic transparency record for an AI assistant in its Work Hub that analyses CVs and suggests jobs, training and career pathways. It is in private beta with several thousand users, and DWP said 16,000 people had used it by late September, a figure the record does not reconcile. DWP says it is advisory only and does not decide entitlement. It does not require human review of every interaction and relies on monitoring and quality assurance, which is useful for public sector teams planning oversight.
