Atlassian's State of Developer Experience 2026 surveyed 1,560 developers and engineering leaders. Only 28% report noticeably less friction than before AI, and 49% of developers spend four or more hours a week managing AI tools. Only 17% of developers report a clear, implemented AI strategy, and 60% say AI use counts as a productivity signal. The data is self-reported and from a tooling vendor, and the sample differs from last year's.
