AI in regulated sectors

The 2026 Alternative People Survey, run by Re:State, Public First and Civil Service World, reports that 82% of civil servants used AI in their work this summer. Of those users, 78% said it helped them do their jobs better and 62% used internal government tools, up from 41%. Drafting and editing was the most common use at 74%, while only 16% used AI to automate processes. For teams delivering AI in government, it shows wide use of sanctioned internal tools but mostly for document work. The article does not give a sample size.
